Pickleball Starter Pack

Starting to play pickleball is super-easy! Really, all you have to do is show up somewhere that others are playing, and the culture of pickleball is such that they should welcome you in, loan you equipment, and teach you the basics of playing, scoring, and so forth.

Equipment is simple:

T-shirt + shorts & tennis shoes (nothing fancy)
Pickleball paddle (you can get inexpensive ones at WalMart or on Amazon)
OPTIONAL Balls (usually there will be balls wherever you go to play, but if there's no pre-existing game you'll need to buy your own ... also at WalMart or on Amazon)
OPTIONAL Net (most courts will have nets but if you want to play in your driveway you can get a net for less than $100)

And that's it!

Extra Credit: If you want to learn the rules ahead of time, just put "Pickleball rules" into YouTube and you'll get all sorts of helpful videos.
