Juneteenth + Pickleball For All uses sport, culture, wellness, and relationship-building to create greater access, connection, and opportunity for East Austin-Area youth, families, and the broader community.
Our vision is to unite people through the health, economic, and social benefits of pickleball while honoring the history, legacy, and ongoing significance of Juneteenth and Rosewood Park.

What began in 2025 as a bold vision became a powerful demonstration of what is possible when community, culture, and connection come together.
In 2026, we're expanding that vision through four pathways that invite everyone to participate, contribute, and help build a more connected Austin through sport, wellness, and community engagement.

MLP Youth Pickleball Experience
Youth engagement is at the heart of this work.
In partnership with Major League Pickleball (MLP), Austin Pickle Ranch, and community partners, Juneteenth + Pickleball For All is providing an immersive youth experience for participants from the Rosewood Summer Camp, African American Youth Harvest Foundation (AAYHF), Greater East Austin Youth Association (GEAYA), and the SaulPaul Foundation.
Participants will:
🏓 Experience professional pickleball at a Major League Pickleball event
🌟 Meet players, coaches, and leaders while seeing new possibilities for their own future
🤝 Explore the careers, businesses, and opportunities connected to the growing pickleball industry
🎾 Build confidence, skills, relationships, and community through sport
This experience is designed to expand horizons, inspire dreams, and create lasting pathways into recreation, wellness, mentorship, and opportunity through one of America's fastest-growing sports.
Juneteenth Activation
In partnership with the Central Texas Juneteenth Committee, Juneteenth + Pickleball For All returns to East Austin for an all-ages, family-friendly celebration of community, culture, wellness, and connection honoring the legacy of Juneteenth and Rosewood Park.

🏓 Enjoy pickleball exhibitions, activities, and opportunities to play
🤝 Connect with neighbors, community organizations, local businesses, and community leaders
🕊️ Celebrate the history, resilience, and ongoing significance of Juneteenth, freedom, and East Austin's historic Rosewood community
This activation creates opportunities for children, youth, adults, seniors, and families to learn, play, and connect while honoring the rich cultural heritage of Rosewood Park and the generations who have sustained Austin's Juneteenth tradition.
Summer Youth Programs
In partnership with Austin Parks & Recreation, Juneteenth + Pickleball For All is offering a series of youth pickleball clinics at Rosewood Park designed to introduce young people to the game while building confidence, wellness, and community.
Participants will:
🏓 Learn pickleball through beginner-friendly instruction
🤝 Develop teamwork, sportsmanship, and leadership skills
🌱 Build healthy habits through recreation and active play
🎁 Receive equipment, swag, and access to future opportunities
This program creates lasting pathways into recreation, mentorship, belonging, and opportunity while honoring the rich community legacy of East Austin.
Pickleball & the Next Generation
Pickleball is the New Golf
Pickleball is rapidly becoming a space where relationships are built, opportunities are created, and communities connect.
Historically, access to spaces like golf courses has shaped who participates in key conversations and networks. As pickleball continues to grow, we have a unique opportunity to ensure those patterns are not repeated.
